Ballot Box

Unique folk art ballot box in the form of a cannon, late 19th century in black and mustard paint. Ball or balls are dropped into the cannon at the breech end, and a tin tube is removed from the muzzle and the balls are counted. 20" long x 6" high.

Snuff Box

A American toleware snuff box decorated with a Liverpool jug and the phrase 'America Liberty and Free Trade'. 6 1/4" long x 3 1/2" wide. In 1832 South Carolina refused to obey a tariff law imposed by the Federal government and threatened to secede from the union. I believe this box commemorates this event.

Paint Decorated Dovetailed Slide Lid Box

Pennsylvania poplar paint decorated dovetailed slide lid box circa 1820 in vibrant salmon and black original paint. Signed on the bottom "Adam Hearn". 10" long x 6" wide x 4" high.

One Gallon Stoneware Jug

Clarkson Crolius one gallon stoneware jug circa 1795-1810 inscribed "C.Crolius Manufacturer Manhattan-Wells New York" 11" high. Some firing flaws and minor lip restoration.

Pint Stoneware Jug

Rare Clarkson Crolius pint stoneware jug 7 1/2" high, circa 1830 stamped "C Crolius Manufacture New York" Small chip to handle otherwise mint.

Black Hawk weathervane attributed to Harris

Circa 1880 with a great verdigris surface with traces of yellow sizing and gilt. One repaired bullet hole. 27" long x 20 1/2" high [not including the stand]

New England pine box in original paint with stenciled decoration

Circa 1825. 5" high x 17 1/2" wide x 11" deep.

Folk art carved and polychromed cane

Signed and dated "HBP Aug. 25 1890 "with a bible, a buck, doe, snake, lion, eagle and shield, and a man chased by a bear, in the best untouched surface. 37 1/4" long

Carved and polychromed pine gameboard

Late 19th century, in red, blue, green, black and natural wood. 19 1/2" x 23 1/2". This board has a different texture in each block and the spaces are delineated by individual punch marks. A very rare board.

Pennsylvania folkart frame

Mid 19th century with polychromed crossed American flags, scratched decorated birds, flowers and basket of flowers. 12 1/2" high X 10 1/2" wide. The interior frame with the decoration sits inside an expandable outer frame that holds the inner frame by tension.

Bucks County Pennsylvania oil on canvas landscape

Titled "Delaware Water Gap" by Samuel George Phillips [1890-1965]. 24" x 30".
Arguably this is the finest work by Phillips who was a member of the New Hope School and studied under Daniel Garber.

Pennsylvania tole ware tray

Circa 1830 probably Philadelphia. Some ninor paint loss. 12 1/4" x 8 3/4".

Pa. polychromed chalk rooster

Circa 1830 in a rare small size. 4 7/8" high

New England watercolor landscape on paper

Signed Amelia D. Spencer November 1831. 6 3/4" x 4 3/4"
[tear on upper right corner and minor foxing.]

Pennsylvania poplar slide lid candlebox

With the original paint decoration of tulips, rosettes and snowflakes on a red ground and dated 1803.. 5 1/4" h x 13 3/4" l x 9 1/4"

Water color on Paper by Augustus Kollner

[Am.1813-1900] of the iron mine at French Creek Falls chester County Pa. 10 1/2" x 14 1/2"

American carved and painted pine pilot house or archectural eagle

Circa 1860, with old dry white paint over traces of original gilt. 36" high x 53 1/2" wingspan.
